Parallelism

I am used to doing 2 things at one time. Well, actually I like doing so not only because of habit but also because it is efficient. But one thing that should be kept in mind is it only works if one of two jobs doesnt require much concentration.

For instance, I like chatting while doing my research. But the chatting is not something that I do intensively. I use stealth setting and only chat with close friends, not intensively. I like reading while watching TV. Actually most of the time I do chatting while doing another activity. Hihihi...It sounds that everything revolves around this chatting stuff.

Anyway... I found out today that this habit becomes even worse now. I had a lot of work to do today. Tomorrow I have to present some research results and paper, so I decided not to chat during the day time. I only chatted with Dewi, but didnt say much either. After lunch time, I felt so depressed that all I did was grumbling and I guess I've made Shiraki-san felt disturbed. Sorry :D :D

Around 3 o'clock I felt I was fed up with these calculation-going-nowhere stuffs. I was thinking of going to library to clear up my mind. Suddenly an acquaintance buzzed me in messenger. We seldom talked before. This afternoon we only talked casual things, living in japan, japanese language, ITB etc etc. Our conversation only lasted about 20 minutes. By the time we finished talking, my mind became clearer.... When Nurul said 'hi'a couple of minutes later, my brain was already twice fresher. Gawat ga siiiiiiih. This habit is so chronic that I can't work without doing another thing in parallel.

Tapi nulis ini sebenernya salah satu cara escape dr kenkyuku yg nyebelin (paralel juga)... ganbare (dengan suara lemes)
Hi Nur.., gosip apa lagi nih selain Krisdayanti dan Tina Zakaria. Update dong :P.

for the remaining days in Japan...

I need a to-do list, a pen and the willingness to get it all done.

Then, I should say.. NO PROBLEM, that easy, isn't?
But why is it so hard to put the willingness in doing what I am doing now??

頑張ります。。。毎日ずっいろ色な仕事をやらなければならない。。
いつかが全部が終わるかな。。。

Haste to the wedding

My brother got married. So sad that I couldn't be there in his precious day. And so sad that I could not get involved in my family's haste welcoming his wedding reception day, all the gatherings and all the fusses. I was left behind with piles of work and stress. But I am happy for him. And I wish for his lifetime happiness....

My family... minus me.

Yossshhhh.... GANBARIMASU, hayaku kaeritai dakaara...

Movies Week

Recently I spent much time watching movies, and by good fortune, it happened that I always got good movies. I watched 'Stuck on You', a comedy that gets me mellow in the end. When finally separated by operation, the Siamese twin still cannot live separately because of the stronger emotional bond between them. 'La Divorce' has gotten me daydream about the beauty of Paris, buildings, eiffel, fashion and the food. And 'The Emperor's club', a movie that tells how important it is to live rightly, and how influential the role of teacher is to mold one's character. This is a must-see movie. You'd better watch it.

But still, my favorite is The West Wing. I dont like politics, but I like the way these people work together in a team for their president who has got a good heart. He is a perfect president, isn't he... Handsome, powerful, smart, witty, accomodative (Martin Sheen is definitely born with those characters). Each personnel is a very smart person, who knows what to do and what to say in most of the times. Self control is one of the their qualities of being able to put aside personal desire in serving public needs. This clearly appears in how they rapidly but unmistakably control their feeling in a situation that involves both personal and working attributes. They dont have perfect life, though. One accomplishment in one part of life doesnt bring another achievement in,.. err usually personal life. It seems that they dont come in one package. Does it always have to be that way?

Can't we have all?

Happy Birthday Kak Lusi

Happy Birthday Kak Lusi..
Wish all the best in the world for you, happiness, success, and love.

We surprised her shortly after midnight and as having predicted before, she already knew it. Her acting of being surprised was absolutely obvious :P. It was 6 of us, Didik, Yazdi, Wawan, me, Kak Etri and Dewi.

We stayed up until 2 a.m to watch her opening her presents .... and set up plan for lunch ;-)

We had a great lunch at Bengal Restaurant on Kak Lusi's treat. Full lunch set including today's special and desert. Yummyyyy. And in addition to that perfectly complete set was Biryani Rice as 'omiyage' from the chef.

What's after full stomach? Watching movie using projector sounded fun.
Location : Didik's. Movie: Stuck on YouThe fun hadn't stopped yet. What's after movie? We needed to think about dinner. We went to my apartment, and had delicious dinner together. Of course it wasnt me who cooked for dinner, I'm sure that would ruin up that special day. It's the birthday girl. Rancak banaaaa.

Trouble-shooting

Feel thankful for a conversation with a whisky friend.

Problem is something that one will confront for as long as he lives. Sometimes they come assembled at a time, all at once. And we found ourselves in a lugubrious state called desperation. Alamaksss....

Research is something that has been burdening me. Stuck here and there, it wrenchs over all of my thoughts and attention. I have to catch up the deadline for conference presentation, thesis completion and the most important thing : RESULT, in 3 months. The answer of my problem of course is (not as simple as stated) doing the best I can, in other word : Ganbaroooo.

Another problem arised. I had to choose to stay in a condition or leave it out because something related with the past. As a matter of fact, staying in that condition is one thing that I had been feeling really happy for among other unsatisfying things. In the same time, I've been preparing some tests that I expect to support that condition. If I leave, I know I 'll be devastated and have to turn in those plans.
It was like all the doors are suddenly closing down to me.
After a seemingly interminable talk and anger, I can say that my problem is finally settled. It is not easy but I am trying to accept and accomodate myself into it stepwise.

A friend gave me some advices in dealing with problems:
1. Change our standpoint of viewing our problem. Sometimes it is ourself that tends to make things worse and more complicated.
2. Take one step back to cool down so that we are able see things clearly. ( I always failed to do this).
3. Solve the problem one by one. Conclude one general solution and then go deeper into the specific solutions.
4. Find a solace in a confidant, or someone who you feel comfort with.

It was an incalculable experience I had as an Action Group Leader in Children World Summit for the Environment(CWS). Children are potential resources. Their spirit and pure mind are place of hope for a better future. We, the grown-ups, have the responsibility to foment their potential inherent capacity.

Coldplay - Fix You

i love some coldplay's songs. chris martin definitely has one of the best voices around. there's something in his voice that just gets to me. melting.... melting

When you try your best, but you don't succeed
When you get what you want, but not what you need
When you feel so tired, but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse

And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

When high up above or down below
When you're too in love to let it go
But if you never try you'll never know
Just what you're worth

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

Tears stream down your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down your face
And I...

Tears stream down your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down your face
And I...

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
