Nana`s Footsteps...
Absent-minded dreaming days
It is interesting and fun to create a new imaginary life in parallel with your existent life. It is like having the ability to control 2 lifes at a time. It helps you overcome the tension for not having 'perfect-life-you-have-been-imagining'.
I developed this behaviour throughout the seminars, group meetings, conferences which all were held in Japanese. In some earlier moments, I worked out so hard in understanding all the discussion and expected to be able to comprehend the stuff being discussed. The effort was the usage of electric dictionary, dictionary, asking labmates, and any means of absorbing information. But this activities turned out to be boring, tiresome and most of all.. useless. I got minor progress compared to the attempts I have made out. And staying all days in the lab without establishing any conversation with Japanese, who prefer to remain in silence :D, boosts the tendency.
Then I started to enforce this peculiar ability. Autis time, so to speak (my friend's quotes), is the time when I make myself stay in a steady position, act as if I was listening to surroundings or concentrating.. but instead of listening, my mind is wandering in search for entertaining images which I have been longing for. Meeting Hirai Ken, for instance, is one of images that is reappeared intentionally ha ha ha. Helps me a lot in relaxing mind among the mundane activities. Some words of advice from me is, for inexperience persons doing this... dont go way too far from reality. Keep your mind on the track. How real this imaginary life looks for you.. well it is still not a reality. And don't sleep... otherwise sensei will get really angry :P
