Weekend

Had a nice weekend. ..

Saturday
I was invited to go to Dewi's housewarming party. It was very enjoyable. Haha hihi with friends. Delicious food and a comedy movie. Thanks to Dewi for the food, the jokes and the warm atmosphere. We definitely need some moments of refreshing once in a while, from the routine suppression and boredom.

Sunday
Had a one-day wonderful experience with 2 Japanese families, Ubaura Family and Tomoko Family. We went to an area one-hour from Toyohashi to experience vegetables picking. We spent the whole noon there and enjoyed the work (ka na..) , fresh air to invigorate the emotion. The fruit of hard work was then served at the dinner. Suddenly I felt like home, having dinner together with my family, laughing and talking about everything. Despite limited scope of my Japanese vocabulary, I was still able to understand the essence of the conversation. What amazed me most about these families is the way they cultivate the work ethic within their children soul. From the early age they have learned how to work hard in order to achieve their final destination. We get what we earn, what we work for. These children seldom nag, performed healthy competition to get the highest, yet still enjoy the fun part of being children.

After working hard, as luck would have it, we got 'takenoko'. I even climbed down the 'dangerous' hill to dig one. (over Ubaura-san's challenge actually :D)Posted by Hello

Recognize that smile. .. A face filled with satisfaction of having eaten delicious dishes... :D :DPosted by Hello

Kaikan Love Story

(The result of : Haha Hihi lunch at D3-306 Kikai System Engineering)

It's somehow exciting to witness a mutual affection happening in such secluded area like TUT, at the International House particulary. Far from civilization thus far finding a warmth to spirit the study up (or even weaken instead, haven't been observed yet). Pleasantly entertaining to see that 'us' is the viewers of the love show, out of the system ;-) . Okay, it's not entirely out of the system, but some actually contacted with me superficially.

Kaikan or International House is a five stories building where most of International students activities take place in and some students live in. Communication between individuals is intensely made by having dinner together, playing pingpong in pingpong hall, watching TV in the lobby, having conversation in self-study room, assembling at the parties, or simply saying 'hi' when passing someone in the hall. No wonder if some love charges get excited with ease here and there.

Some facts are easily distinguished, but the rest, are plainly needed further verification . Truth be told, we are all-fired good at digging 'valuable information' hihihi. Some cases we've found with success : Don Juan de Jiran who is an expert with Japanese girls, by all odds broke many hearts. One of those who suffered from heartache tried to find solace and at long last gave her heart to a Sphinx genie. A girl who played the same role as this Don Juan, fell in love in secret with him but then must realize of differences pushing her to the wall. Two Koreans who declare their love after having met here; their laugh from the 2nd floor never fail to make anyone feel envious toward. A pretty Aryan seems to find her 'Half' in a tiny man from South-East Asia, that from time to time we dont hear her saying her boyfriend's name any longer. A European guy whose heart belongs to his family distant away tried to compensate his loneliness by dating the only Japanese girl at kaikan. An Indonesian man who is apparently close to me :P :P has a crush with a sweet-chubby-warm girl who stays where I used to stay last year. (2 months left, make a move!!)

Hehe those few cases are just like serial drama with different characters. That's what we define life is, in wider perspective. And we, in others' perspective, are likely the part of another play.

Love comes by chance. Without advance planning.

I was happy enough to find 'delightful surprises' and yummy food.

Exaggerated Elation

My 'student' has come back from Malaysia. He had been my student for only 3 months before his departure to Malaysia. When I met him at Buffet Party, he talked in a friendly way(this is very uncommon here in Japan, that is why I was surprised) about his experiences in Malaysia.

One thing that really excited me is.... the way he said 'Thank You'. An open and genuine gratitude. I feel contentment for having done something right. Now I understand why my parents chose ' teacher ' as profession. I've got only one student but this feeling of excitement remained for the whole evening. Wow, being teacher must be a pleasing activity. Helps maintaining mental well-being by feeling happy all the time. Juvenile occupation.

Internet Connection

I've never thought before that I could enjoy internet connection so much just like I do now. I used to think that the world around me comprises many blocks and boundaries in betweens. Internet wipes out these boundaries and creates the whole new imaginary global world; And now, I do believe that this inanimate thing called internet can play a very big role over my daily life.

Early on, I had only two major motivations to install internet. And I'd got many major obstacles to refrain from applying for it. The complicatedness application procedures in applying for internet once had made my friend lose his temper, which was once in a blue moon. It also took much time before having the assurance of internet installation.

So sad to realize that all the obstacles exhibit from only one reason, we are not Japanese. The reality of being discriminated by others sometimes is just difficult to accept even it does exist. Because everywhere around the globe there is always tendency to treat the minorities below the belt. It is human nature yet reprehensible. We realize it but we does nothing when it is us who does the act. In the contrary, we criticize when us the dupe is.

Anyway, about the internet connection, the motivations won against the obstacles. I have it installed 100 Mbps. I am able to be online 24 hours. I get benefits. The distance is no longer baffled by space and time. Just a screen away.... but I have no reason for not doing myresearch at every point.
