Books

Finally, I finished reading 'Surely, You're Joking Mr. Feynman'. I love it. It is superb!! Knowing a real genious is originally human :p is a total relief for me. Dick Feynman is so human. And yet.. he is so genious. His noteworthy of behavior is his curiosity, every single thing in surroundings incites his eager to understand more and dig deeper, it is all wrapped in a levity which his colleagues often take for granted.

This type of book that actually is worth reading. Not only does it give you a window to see the rest of the world (for Feynman the rest of the world is Princeton, though :P), that is seemingly beyond our reach; but also it gives us hope and for even better... motivation. Perhaps, won't make a giant leap like what Feynman did (Nobel prize bo'), but at least makes us think this world is so vast that we can never get enough of in exploring. There is no limit for expectation and hope and dont be unsure to learn from the basic.

A little under 2 weeks before I also read a book. I insisted reading that book on account of its being prohibited in China. The book is titled 'Shanghai Baby'. What is it inside that makes it sensational.

.... After reading the book...
(Actually I even was able to take conclusion before half part was passed.. It was boring)

The story is just usual.
Nothing's special.
I sensed that Wei Hu stepped out from traditional Chinese way of thinking. A Free, unleashed life of a woman who wants to be famous. But she is herself is not special. It is only the topic that makes people buzz around, which is against people belief. If you read Jakarta Undercover, then you'll know what I mean.

I Pod

I love my mini I Pod very much. It's not that I am so into music. I like it because it's cute, it's blue and very convenient. The design is tiny but elegant and slim.In addition.... I got this as my 25 birthday present from my friends. But what I never knew before is ...it is so addictive :D

Apple released the new IPod called IPod nano. It's even slimmer than my mini IPod and it has color display. Simply irresistible ... Chodai... :D
Check it out at Apple website.

Weekend in Nagoya

What a lovely weekend I had in Nagoya!! Forget about the presentation. I didnt really care for it from the very start. Prepared the ppt files, gave the speech, answered some questions and that was it. Most of the presenters were Japanese, presented their research in Japanese, and discussion was done in Japanese. I noticed that in my session there were only 2 English presentations. I bet they didnt really understand what I was talking about. Shoganai..

Spending the weekend with San is the more interesting part for me. We hadn't met for about 3-4 months. I dont quite remember. We used to talk many things from dusk til dawn. We have quite a lot in common: thoughts, feelings, hobbies, motivations, and to tell the truth... weight and body size. Apart from that, we have a very different opinion about our goals in life. Although I insisted that it is all just because she hasnt found what she is looking for. She didnt agree on my opinion. Hahahaa we are both equally stubborn. It was an interesting 'pillow talk', though.

We had so much fun the day after. What I refer as fun here is .. shopping and eating. Both are our hobbies. What kept me from spending much money is thinking of I am going back 2 months later. But this sweet girl, has not enough reason for not going overboard. And I have to admit I was kind of aiding the interest of her shopping a lot of women's stuff by encouraging her continuously. 'I think this suit is very nice on you, you look smart' 'You look elegant wearing those shoes' 'This clothe goes with you very well'. Hahaha. Am I a bad friend?? I was only trying to make her happy... Beside she really needed those things.. Right, San?? We spent 5,5 hour walking around. I could no longer feel my feet. Numb. It was very nice weekend with her. Thank youuuuu. Ganbatte for those english books. I think she is gonna reach her goals for all the hardworks she's been doing.

The journey hadn't ended yet.. On Sunday I met Dewi, Kanit and Sho in Nagoya station. I planned to meet them around 10.20. But.. my habit of being lost when my mind wandering around came to the surface. I met them around 11.

We had a very nice shopping journey with Sho as the 'guide', who insisted to bring us to a very cute shopping place. Hahahaha. How in the world that I can imagine how this shopping place will look like. It was just.... a place full of unique things, which are not my interest at all. We went to loft afterwards... Yeah this is what I call shopping center, provides good things, reasonable price, nice place, and complete stocks. Nagoya is like a heaven for shoppers :D

I really love my weekend with San, Sho, Kanit, Dewi and also was happy to have a chance to meet Yuri and her mother even only in a very short moment in Doutour Coffee.

Devils in the details, but love is in the air

Finally, I can release myself from the bubble of boredom. Yattaaaa. Either because some 'good news' I heard recently or simply because I am so busy that I dont have time to realize anything but my research.

Cant wait to present in Nagoya. Uh huh. I have to present by the end of this week in Nagoya. A little bit nervous. Maybe I take it the wrong way, but the more I go into the detail, the more confused I am. This marathon of renshuu (practice for presentation) should have built the foundation for a better performance but it weakened my courage instead. We craved the particulars and went into the details. Made me realize that it is still far from perfect. I must not get discouraged. Practice makes perfect.

Feel so excited too.
Someone played music to my ears. Just realized now that it helps giving me hope about everything brighter awaiting...
My friends are getting married.
My sister is graduating.
My professor in Tokyo is coming to see me in the end of this month.
Cant wait to see my friend in Nagoya.
Cant wait for another visit to Tokyo.

Alhamdulillah. Rasanya akhir akhir ini kurang bersyukur...

Bosan

Have you ever feel bored? Ve-heeery bored, I mean. I am awfully bored now. It's the deepest point of the deepest abyss of boredom.

Routine drives us crazy, especially when we have scarce resources of excitement-incite agent. I've got plenty of hobbies but it takes me by surpise that I lose attraction over them. Not only do they fail in providing pleasure, they even grow as a burden that if spend my time doing it, it only waste my time. What is it with the whole boredom thing :D

Let me do the list..,
Shopping... actually it is still interesting, but counting countless expenditure I must spend in the next three months, apartment, bills, telephone, oh-oh.. now it adds up to boredom-y depressive financial sickness.

Movies... I love watching movies. Back in college, when I got bored (which actually is a very rare thing, since I always have friends encircling me, to laugh with and to laugh at), I simply go for a walk, to take the air, to watch movies or, to do window shopping. I can't do that here, due to the limited route of the bus, and the time schedule. On the other hand, my DVD player refuses to operate, what a luckless coincidence. Strike out.

Reading... Again and again, time is something I dont have plenty of at the moment. Only two choices left at this very moment, either doing my research or preparing the test. If I dont do the research, then I must think the test, and vice versa. So I've got to cross out this choice.

All and all.. seems that I am destined to stick to this condition, only temporarily, hopefully.
